Lilah Fowler’s sculptural works are based on geometrical forms, shapes and planes. Using a formal and minimal language, the artist explores illusion and exaggerated perspective. The simultaneous creation of depth and solidity - which initiates a feeling of space – makes a starting point for a study of physical and psychological place. The works are often installed in response to their environment and thereby address a serendipitous and spontaneous reaction to form, space and surface.
Fowler studied sculpture at the Royal College of Art, and Edinburgh College of Art. She teaches at the Slade School of Art in London.
